Deep inside Skuleskogen National Park flows Skravelbäcken stream. From the source lakes until it flows into the sea, there is a height difference of over 200 meters. At several places, smaller rapids and waterfalls form, and the most photo-friendly is Skravelbäcken’s waterfall. The waterfall is located right by the High Coast trail.

The height of the fall is only a few meters, but if you manage to get there when there is a lot of water in the stream, the waterfall is still quite impressive. The amount of water in the waterfall varies from a roaring rapid during the spring snowmelt to a gentle trickle in the fall. To get to the waterfalls, you walk along the High Coast trail through a magical primeval forest.
Best Time to Photograph The Location
If you visit the waterfall in July after a few rainy days, the surroundings will be green and lush and there is the perfect amount of water in the stream. The forest is quite dense around so a slightly overcast day is probably preferable to get an even soft light.
How To Find The Location
The easiest way to get to the waterfall is from the northern entrance to Skuleskogen National Park. From the generous parking lot, walk along the Höga Kusten trail for about two kilometers. The last 500 meters are steeply uphill and the path is covered with roots and loose rocks. After it has rained, it usually becomes very slippery.
